Breilting for Bentley Mark VI Complications 29 Watch

In the past we have discussed two watches in Breitling for Bentley Serie Mark VI collections; Breitling for Bentley Mark VI Watch and the Breitling for Bentley Mark VI Complications 19 Watch. Today we will take a closer look at the Mark VI Complications 29.

Breitling for Bentley’s Mark VI Complications 29 watch comes in either rose gold or platinum and is made up of approximately 500 parts. The calendar on this Breitling watch is its best feature and it is programmed to feature the date, day, week, month, season, and moon phases while being sensitive to the various leap years. Measuring at 1/4th of a second it is certified by the COSC and includes limited edition pieces only. Only 250 watches were made of the Breitling for Bentley Mark VI Complication 29 Rose Gold Watches and only 100 were made of the platinum.

Besides looks and materials, technically, there is no difference between the different variations of the Breitling for Bentley Mark VI Complications 29. All Breitling watches in the collection have a Breitling Calibre 29B, mechanical self-winding movement, 28,800 vibrations per second, 38 jewels, and 30min and 12 min totalizers.

The case of this Breitling watch can come in rose gold or platinum and feature 100 meters of water resistance, screw-locked crown, glareproofed and convex sapphire crystal on both sides, and a 42 mm diameter. The Breitling dials are available in Silver Storm and Burnt Oak, and the straps are available in Barenia leather or crocodile leather.

Breitling World Time Application

As discussed last week, Breitling launched a Breitling World Time Application with their new website design. The Breitling World Time application is a “computing instrument that measures units or currencies that easily solve time-related calculation”.

Here is a detailed account of my adventures with the Breitling World Time Application.

Last week the Breitling World Time application caught my eye so I downloaded it from the web site to see exactly what it was and how I could use it.

After downloading I extracted the Breitling World Time application to my desktop.

After extracting I located the setup file and installed the applications to my hard rive.

Next I opened up the application and started exploring! Here’s a breakdown of the features (click on image for larger view):

Introducing Breitling Watches New Website

I ran into a pleasant surprise today, Breitling has a new website, totally redesigned from yesterday. Here are a few features that I like:

1. The Landing Page
Breitling new website’s landing page includes some links that were kind of hidden on the old site. In the top right corner you can quickly change the site language. In the top left corner there are quick links to Models, Retailers, Air Time, Technology, History, and Breitling For Bentley collection. At the bottom right corner the choices include Portfolio, Breitling World Time (more about this tomorrow), News, Contact, and the Breitling Copyright information.

2. Breitling Watch Model Display
On the old website the Breitling Models were displayed in the bottom and sometimes froze up and took up screen realestate. Now you can hover over the ‘All Models’ button and the Breitling models easily fade in and when you move the mouse it easily fades out of the interface.

3. Breitling Model Info More User Friendly
Breitling has also changed the way it gives you details about each of its models. Instead of a sometimes difficult flash interface, when you click on a model it you can easily look at the models Presentation, Versions, Technical Data, Bracelets, and the 360 degree view. Each click opens up a new menu with additional features.

Okay those are my three favorite features of the new site. However, there are two things that I wish they would have fixed:

1. The News Feature
You have to subscribe to Breitling to get upcoming news, however, you hardly ever get anything in your inbox. Breitling should feature news, products, and events on the website for easy access and to keep everyone updated.

2. Mozilla Firefox Functionality
One of my pet peeves with the Breitling website is that when using Mozilla Firefox somethings get cut off including words and pictures. That seems to have not been fixed, especially when a menu reaches out to the edges of the right, left, or bottom screen.

Breitling Navitimer World Watch

The Breitling Navitimer World Watch has a big name and even bigger features.  It’s 10 percent larger than the original Breitling Navitimer Watch and has that awesome Breitling known second time zone feature.

The Breitling Navitimer World Watch uses Caliber 24 to indicate a time zone in a 24 hour mode. On the caseback Breitling adds a signature touch with engraving of the time zones on the back case. Additionally this Breitling watch has a 42 hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 25 jewels, a dial aperture calendar, steel case or your choice of 18k rose or red gold, 3 bars of water resistance, and a bidirectional slide rule bezel.

The Breitling Navitimer World watch also includes a non screw-locked crown with two gaskets, screwed in case back, and sapphire glare proofed crystal on both sides. Here is a close up video of the a Breitling Navitimer dial:

New Breitling for Bentley watch Bentley GMT

The newest Breitling watch to join the prestigious Breitling for Bentley watch collection is the new Bentley GMT. This Breitling chronograph is an original design including the first new black rubber strap ever in the Breitling for Bentley collection.

Other features you can expect from the Breitling for Bentley watch is the precise clasp mechanism and larger dimensions of the bezel. The dial includes raised numerals and hour makers and new push pieces. The Bentley GMT also comes in some neat styles including steel and a rare red and gold version.

The Bentley GMT is perfect for a world traveler due to a multiple time zone display system including an independent hour hand in which the dial does a full turn for 24 hours. Another cool globalizing feature is the inner bezel. The inner bezel of the Bentley GMT shows the name of 24 cities displaying time zones around the world by simply turning the bezel to the desired time zone. Perfect for no matter where you travel…New York, Bangkok, London, Tokyo, Abu Dhabi or even Sydney.

Other technical Data for Breitling for Bentley’s Bentley GMT include a Breitling Calibre 47B, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 38 jewels, 1/8th of a second chronograph, a calendar, water resistance of up to 330 feet, screw-locked crown, and sapphire crystal glare proof sides.

Aviation’s Influence On Breitling

Aviation and Breitling watches are like a mother and her child, with out one, the other wouldn’t exist. Every watch designed, every chronograph tested, every screw inserted was influenced by aviation throughout their existence.

Taking a look at Breitling history of watch designs cannot not be done without looking at the history of aviation. From 1884 until today, the rich influence of man in the air is not just noticable but clearly evident.

In 1884 the a star was born as Leo Breitling opens his workshop specializing in chronographs and precision counters for systematic and industrial purposes only, soon that passion will be focused on consumers around the world.

In 1891 German Otto Lilienthal, the father of aviation flew 50 meters in his glider. The very next year Leon Breitling relocated to La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Mecca of watch making.

In 1913 Aldophe Pegoud, king of the air, loops the first loop in aviation. The next year Leon Breitling dies and his son Gaston takes over the family business. The very next year Breitling consumption with aviation begins as the company led by Gaston creates the first wristwatch chronograph and provides pilot with the first instruments.

Today Breitling continues Gaston and Leon’s vision by continuing the goal of providing aviation employees the tools they need to beat time, and watches that consumers can use for a lifetime.

How To Spot A Fake Breitling

In the 1980’s very good replicas and fake Breitling watches began to make their way into the market.  Most of them were the Breitling Aviator and Sports divers watch, Crosswind, Navitimer, and Fighter.  Unfortunately for consumers, buying a real Breitling watch can be disastrous because the fakes are actually really good.

One of the best ways to spot a fake is to look at the logo.  If the logo is printed, most likely it is not a real Breitling watch.  However, if the logo is embossed you are one step closer to the genuine thing.

Looking at the logo is only one way to spot a fake Breitling. If a Breitling is genuine the window for the date is large and will overlap into the second and the minute hands.

Additionally, a genuine Breitling’s dial will always have a perfect anchor, most replicas have an imperfect anchor which lacks polish.

Another way to spot a fake is to focus on the center dial.  The pin that holds the center dial together should be the same color as the dial, usually silver.  A Breitling without this attribute is a fake.

If you come across a really good Breitling replica, and all of the above have passed. There is another sure fire way to discover if it is a fake. The inner bezel should smoothly blend into the dial.  If bezel is rough, a complete drop, has a distinct black line, or has no bezel at all, it is a fake. Also, notice how the subdials on the fake is raised, the subdials on a genuine Breightling is never raised.

Always remember to examine your Breitling thoroughly before buying to insure  you receive a wonderful watch that can last for generations to come.

Breitling for Bentley

One of my favorite Breitling collections is Breitling for Bentley. The two brands couldn’t have been matched better by cupid himself. Both brands have a love for complex mechanics, prestige, performance, and history. Not only do they have matching business focuses, but both brands sport a winged version of the letter B for their logos. As a result of this match made in heaven a wonderful collection of chronographs were born and adopted by both watch enthusiast and the automobile world. Below is an overview of the Breitling for Bentley collection including details of my two favorite models which celebrate “beautiful motors encased in beautiful bodywork.”

Bentley 6.75

Named after Bentley’s largest engine, the 6.75 litre that can be found under the hood of the Bentley’s Arnage Limousines, this watch comes water resistant with a screw-locked crown, and special decorated back. Buyers have a choice of steel, yellow or gold… and of course luxury lovers can buy a limited edition in rose or yellow gold.

Buyers of the watch can expect a Breitling Calibre 44B, self winding system, 30 minute and 12-hor totalizers, “Large aperture” calendar, and a COSC chronometer-certification.

Bentley Mulliner Tourbillon

This watch is a true combination of watch enthusiast and car lovers, just look at the name! Mulliner is a Bentley workshop and Tourbillion is a sophisticated mechanism in watchmaking.

Originality was the goal of this design because over the next two years only a few dozen will be made at the rate of two per month. The Bentley Mlliner Tourbillon include attributes such as a Breitling Calibre 18B, 1/6th of a second chronography, 21,600 vph, 26 jewels, 15-minute totalizer, and Pointer-type calender. It can be purchased in platinum, yellow, rose or white gold.

Other models of this amazing collection include the Bentley GMT, Bentley Motors, Bentley Motors T, Bentley GT, Bentley GT Racing, Flying B, Flying B Chronograph, Mark VI, Mark VI Complications 19, Mark VI Complications 29. Breitling for Bentley Motors Mens Watch

Breitling for Bentley is the most popular watch brand made by collaboration between watch makers and the automotive industry. Of course, many have tried to partner, but few have received the prestige of Breitling for Bentley Watches.

Breitling for Bentley watches are not the only part of the partnerships. Bentley cars, such as the Bentley Continental series also carry Breitling clocks on their dashboards. As a result, a cult following of watch enthusiast has been searching high and low to get their hands on the Breitling for Bentley watches. The new partnership is based on the craftsmanship of Bentley automobiles and the watch making talents of Breitling.

A perfect example of this partnership is the Breitling for Bentley Motors Men’s Automatic watch. This particular Breitling watch has a stainless steel case with green dial dad brown leather strap.
