Breitiling Watches Superocean 44 Take Two

Mens Breitling Superocean II Watch
The Breitling SuperOcean II (44mm) watch comes in 2 versions. A chronograph and a standard 3-hand.

Breitling watches came out with a new Superocean model last year sporting a modern design in a 42mm size. Some people wanted a smaller case diameter, but more people liked it bigger and so the Superocean II was born. The Superocean 44, as it is known, comes in two versions, the three-hand and the chronograph. There is a GMT version for those who like the 42mm size.

The Superocean 44 is easier to read than its predecessor, the dial has the core look of the design but there is more space between the hour markers. Applied baton hour markers are used more than stylized Arabic numerals which can be found at 6 and 9 o’clock. The three-hand model has increased water-resistance from 1,500 to 2,000 meters this year. The GMT and the chronograph are water-resistant to 500 meters. There is a rubberized bezel insert with minute markers from 0 to 15. It comes in a variety of color options giving the model a sporty and fun feel and look. Swiss automatic movement drives the models and they are COSC certified.

Leon Breitling founded Breitling watches in 1884; his chronographs were extraordinary even then. The company’s motto is “Instruments for Professionals” which has always been the philosophy, vocation and spirit of the brand. Leon’s passion was to make instruments for science, sports and industry and that is just what he did. He had many patents and inventions improving the reliability of his instruments. In 1914, son Gaston took over and, taking after his father, he invented the wrist chronograph push piece independent from the crown handling all three functions. In 1923 he separated the start and stop functions. Grandson Willy took the reins and in 1934 created the second independent push piece at 4 o’clock that was copied by many competitors. Breitling was named the official supplier to world aviation in 1934; the Navitimer with its circular slide rule was a favorite among pilots and aeronautical enthusiasts and still is to this day. Breitling is the only major watch brand that submits all of their timepieces to the COSC for certification. And five generations later, they have maintained their independence.

The Breitling Airwolf Watch

The Breitling Airwolf watch was made for professional pilots in mind.  Why? Maybe the 1/100th of a second chronograph with split times, maybe the beautifully engineered alarm and countdown feature, the 2nd timezone and UTC calender? All of these are good reasons as to why the Breitling Airwolf is a professional pilot’s watch. However, the real reason is Breitling’s history with providing aviation professionals with quality timepieces.

The Breitling Airwolf has a stunning backlighting system which allows night-time read-off along with ergonomic curving chronograph push pieces and water resistance of up to 5 bars.  The movement of the Breitling Airwolf is astounding including SuperQuartz, thermocompensated quartz electronic, 12/24 hr LCD digital display, and an EOL indicator.  At 1/100th of a second, max. 99 days, 23 hrs 59 min, 59.99 sec, this Breitling chronograph is worthy of the best pilots wrist.  A bidirectional bezel with pinoin mechanism and a non screw-locked crown with two gaskets and integrated push piece accent with this Breitling watch.

A must for any aviation professional that travels around the globe.
